OOPPS!
How would you like to arrive at your job and find out that you are dressed identical to your boss? Sounds like a bad dream but for me it was reality. One morning I walked into school and noticed that when my principal came in that we were dressed exactly alike. At first I was not sure what to do but my principal thought it was funny so we laughed and took a picture!
McDonalds????
I recently went to a national soccer game and noticed that one of the advertisements on the field was for McDonalds. That does not sound odd until you realize that there is not a McDonalds to be found in the entire country! I asked a friend about it hoping that we would soon get a McDonald’s of our own. He told me that McDonalds had been in negotiations with my country for over 10 years and it would not be happening anytime soon. Oh, well!!!

Soccer Game
Going to a soccer game in a foreign country. Here the phrases you need to know to fit in – NO, Well done, Idiot, Bad call, run, faster! It was nice to be able to understand and not be fluent in the language! (We tied but that ref was awful).

A Taste Test
While in the UAE, Sally Katherine and I thought the Coke Light (AKA Diet Coke) Tasted different. We decided to bring a can back with us so we could conduct an “Official Taste Test”. The conclusion – yet to be determined (In other words not discernable difference in taste (We just like it no matter where it comes from). Notice the Arabic script on the can!

End of school
All good things must come to an end. My first year of teaching school has come to a close. I have grown to love both my kindergarten class and my grade three class. This has truly been a year of growing experiences both for me and then!
