Snow, Spring, and other fun things!

I was alking home and just could not resist buying some of these beatiful flowers. Daffodils just seem to announce that spring is here!

The last snow of the year!

Just hanging out in the snow. Anyone want to join me?

swinging in the snow can it get better than this?

Cartoon Princesses - Beautiful Girls!

Just some of the Disney Princesses that were hanging around the school last Friday!

Every little girl in my kindergarten class dressed up like a princess!

Fun Times is Turkey

After Christmas Sally Katherine and I traveled to Turkey. We spent time with friends in Istanbul and in a city near the coast. One day Sally Katherine and I set off by ourselves to explore Istanbul. TO day we had an adventure would be quite an understatement. We took the Ferry across the Bosphorus Strait. It was a chilly morning but the wind was great and the air smelled so fresh!
Istanbul / Constantinople

Basilica cisterns

Turkish Carpets - I could not even afford the smallest one! They were some of the most beautiful carpets I had ever seen!

Blue Mosque

Inside the Hagia Sophia
Before it was turned in to a Mosque the Hagia Sophia was a church. Some of the original mosaics have been uncovered.

Topkapi Palace

We left the snow so come some where warmer and the snow followed us. It hardly ever snows in Istanbul and when it did snow we were there. I am not sure if I think it was funny or really terrible!

Ancient Roman Bridge

The Roman Road

It was so cool to walk down this road imagining what history took place here and the people who traveled on it.

The water used to come up to this gate. It was supposedly here that Antony met Cleopatra's boat!

The black basalt Roman Road in Tarsus

This is thought to be Paul’s Well (but who knows?!)

The inside of a church

The Mediterranean! What a view!!! I just love sunsets.

These are some of the friends we stayed with. We were having trouble keeping our eyes open for the picture!
